Undergraduate and high school students from around the world are invited to study abroad at Notre Dame for a semester or an academic year. Students will experience Notre Dame by attending classes taught by world-renowned professors and participating in student activities in our state-of-the-art facilities. Students will discover the religious and intellectual traditions that are unique to Notre Dame and cultivate their sense of responsibility to be a force for good, as well as experience the unmatched sense of community on campus and become a part of the ND family during their study abroad experience at our "Home Under the Dome."
Degree Seeking Students
Greater China Scholars Program
The Greater China Scholars (GCS) Program, the University of Notre Dame's premier merit Scholars Program for international undergraduate students, was created to recognize the critical importance of encouraging exceptional students from throughout the world to attend Notre Dame. The University not only aims to attract the brightest students, but also those with great capacity for global leadership and commitment to the betterment of society. In addition to merit-based scholarships, the Program also provides Scholars with a full range of enrichment and mentorship programming to enhance their spiritual, intellectual, and leadership capacities throughout their undergraduate studies at Notre Dame.
To be eligible, applicants must apply to the University of Notre Dame by the application deadline and currently be citizens of or residents in China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Taiwan. No further application to the scholarship program is needed.
Non-Degree Seeking Students
The Exchange Student and American Semester Abroad Programs are credit-bearing programs that allow international students to take 12-17 credits per semester at the University of Notre Dame and receive an official transcript upon the successful completion of their program. These academic study abroad opportunities are carefully designed to care for our students by providing personalized advising and helping students connect to campus resources, events, and creating outstanding experiences for all visiting international students.

American Semester Abroad Program
Students who are not currently studying at one of the University's exchange partner institutions, the American Semester Abroad Program (ASAP) is a credit-bearing program that allows you to take 12-18 credits per semester at Notre Dame. Students will receive an official transcript upon completion of the program.

Pre-college Summer Scholars Program
Summer Scholars participants spend two intensive weeks on Notre Dame's campus taking a challenging college-level course taught by Notre Dame faculty. Classes are kept small, and the coursework is a true preview of college academics—both rigorous and rewarding. Students could earn one transferable college credit upon the completion of a program track. Students will collaborate on coursework outside designated class times as they would in any college setting, and there is ample time to enjoy the social facets of college life, especially those unique to Notre Dame.
